About Us

Robert (Bob) Forker, CLU founded The Forker Company in 1949 after graduating from Columbia University and completing service in the Army Air Corps. The ability to "be his own boss" attracted Forker to the life and health insurance business. He appreciated the opportunities-and especially, the challenges-of being an entrepreneur.

The Forker Company quickly became a well-respected name, both in the industry and in the community. Forker served as president of the Ohio Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors in 1962-63 and in 1976-77 was accorded the honor of serving the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) in a similar capacity. Also, while leading his own company, he became a Life Member of the Million Dollar Round Table and was a Northwestern Mutual Managing Director for many years.

Being an active community leader was important to Bob, and that philosophy continues to live on at The Forker Company. His community service credits are truly too numerous to list.

As Bob prepared to retire, he looked to Frank Dosch to continue what he started. Dosch's first assocation with Forker was at age 14, when he purchased his first life insurance policy from Bob. His second policy, while he was a student at Ohio University, led to a college agent contract. He then joined The Forker Company immediately upon graduation. In 1988, The Forker Company was purchased by Frank Dosch, CLU, ChFC.

Today, as President of The Forker Company, Dosch credits Forker with being his mentor and role model. Both Forker and Dosch recognized how the business continues to change over time, and how to react to it. The one constant is that this still is, and will continue to be, a people-business. In a high-tech world, we are very "high-touch!"
